Where is Jesus Now?
As followers of Christ, we often wonder about the whereabouts and activities of our Savior. The Bible provides clear insights into where Jesus is and what He is doing right now.
Jesus' Ascension to Heaven
After His resurrection, Jesus ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father (Acts 7:55-56). This signifies His authority and power over all creation. From heaven, Jesus exercises His role as our High Priest, King, and Advocate.
Jesus' Current Activities
1. Interceding for Believers:
Jesus serves as our High Priest, interceding before the Father on our behalf (Hebrews 7:25). He prays for our forgiveness, guidance, and protection.
2. Reigning over the Universe:
As King of Kings, Jesus has absolute authority over all things. He governs the world, directs events, and works out His purposes according to His will.
3. Preparing a Place for Believers:
Jesus promised to prepare a place in heaven for His followers (John 14:2-3). He is currently preparing this eternal home where we will live with Him forever.
4. Sending the Holy Spirit:
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to indwell believers and empower them to live godly lives (John 14:16-17). The Spirit guides, teaches, and convicts us of sin.
5. Preparing for His Return:
Jesus will return to earth to judge the living and the dead (Acts 10:42). He is actively preparing for this future event, ensuring that all things will be fulfilled according to His plan.
Implications for Believers
Jesus' current activities have profound implications for our lives as believers:
- Constant Presence: Jesus is always present with us, interceding for us and guiding us through the Holy Spirit.
- Trust in His Authority: We can trust in His authority and power over all things, knowing that He is working for our good.
- Hope and Future: We have a hope and future in heaven, where Jesus is preparing a place for us.
- Obedience and Faithfulness: We should live our lives in obedience to Christ, knowing that He is actively working in our lives and preparing for His return.
