Colossians 3:12-15: A Call to Christian Character

Garments of God's Chosen
"Put on therefore, as God's chosen, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering." (Colossians 3:12)
As God's chosen, we are called to be a reflection of His character. This involves cultivating virtues that embody His nature:
- Bowels of mercies: Deep compassion and empathy for others
- Kindness: Acts of love, generosity, and support
- Humbleness of mind: A recognition of our own limitations and God's sovereignty
- Meekness: A gentle and submissive spirit
- Longsuffering: Patience and endurance in the face of adversity
Unity in the Body of Christ
"Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye." (Colossians 3:13)
The unity of the church is essential. Despite our differences, we are called to:
- Bear with one another: Tolerate and accept each other's flaws and weaknesses

The Bond of Love
"And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness." (Colossians 3:14)

The Peace of Christ
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
